Lillian G. Murphy is a graduate of Lincoln Memorial University Duncan School of Law. She has worked for Meredith Mochel since she was 19, first as a college intern and now as the firm’s first associate attorney. Lillian brings the talent of youth for new technologies, a passion for success, and a loyalty to the needs of clients that the firm is so glad to now have in the role of attorney.

Lillian graduated from the University of of Tennessee Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and a minor in Political Science. During her undergraduate studies, she was a member of the Alpha Kappa Delta International Honor Society for Sociology and participated in UTC’s Mock Trial program. In law school, she excelled in her classes, worked with the Animal Legal Defense Fund, the Criminal the Criminal Defense Society, and served on the executive board of the Women in Law Society. Lillian continues in her charitable work in the greater Chattanooga area, giving time and resources to food banks and animal charities.

  • Associate Attorney: Beginning August 2026 with provisional Tennessee license and plans to take Georgia bar exam
  • Summer Associate: May 2024 – Aug. 2025
    Conducted legal research, oversaw intake meetings with potential clients, participated in  client meetings, assisted at court appearances.
  • Intern: Feb. 2020 – May 2024
    Managed scheduling, organized case files, trained new interns, and was promoted to full-time staff following college graduation.

Community & Interests

Lillian is committed to public service and has volunteered with the Chattanooga Greater Area Food Bank since 2018. Outside of law, she enjoys walking her dog, reading mystery novels, and traveling.

Outside of my professional life, I enjoy walking my dog, reading a good mystery novel, and traveling. While in school I serve on the executive board of the Women in Law Society where we connect aspiring female students with prominent female attorneys.
